PSW Launching Port Community, Airport Community Systems
In an exclusive talk with Business Recorder at the PSW Headquarters, Syed Aftab Haider, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Single Window Company stated that Pakistan Single Window (PSW) will implement two new major systems, i.e., the Port Community System at Karachi, Gwadar, and Port Qasim for speedy clearance of vessels/ port processes and the Airport Community System at all airports to digitally connect all functions/ services at the airports.
FBR Decides to Implement IRMS through PSW
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to implement an Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) through the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) to ensure trade compliance as well as trade facilitation to reduce the time and cost of doing business. All Government Agencies Required to Implement PCA of Imports, Exports
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made it compulsory for all government agencies integrated with the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) system to implement the Post Clearance Audit (PCA) of imports and exports. Under the new Pakistan Single Window Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) Rules, 2023, all the government agencies integrated with the PSW system shall put in place a mechanism for PCA of transactions processed through IRMS to ensure compliance with the Customs and other trade-related laws and regulations.

With the digitization and improved efficiency of its marine departments, Pakistan is confident of boosting its exports, particularly of seafood, to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Pakistan has made significant progress in trade facilitation, resulting in a remarkable 14% jump in its global ranking in 2023 owing to the implementation of multiple reforms and automation initiatives with special emphasis on the Pakistan Single Window system, as reported by the United Nations. In the South Asia region, Pakistan has been ranked the second best in terms of efficiency of International Trade.
