Overview
The Chief Inspector of Boilers (Sindh) module in PSW enables the digital submission, processing, and issuance of regulatory approvals required for the import of boilers and related equipment. Integrated within PSW’s National Single Window framework, the module provides importers, customs agents, and regulatory officials with a centralized platform to manage approval requests electronically, eliminating the need for manual paperwork and physical office visits. By facilitating seamless information exchange and coordination between traders and the Chief Inspector of Boilers (Sindh), the module enhances transparency, improves processing efficiency, and supports faster regulatory compliance

Step-By-Step Process to Initiate Import Permit Request
The PSW portal has separate sections for traders & custom agents to fill in the import permits. The procedure is as follows:
Please visit ‘’www.psw.gov.pk” and click on the ‘Login’ button.
After clicking on the login button, you will be redirected to the login interface. Here, you will be required to enter your login credentials
At the Dashboard, click the box “LPCO” (i.e., Licenses, Permits, Certificates, Others).
Click on the ‘Import Permits’ button.
After clicking on Import Permits, you will be directed to Import Permits Homepage. To create a new Import Permit, click on ‘Create Import Permit’ button.
Upon clicking the ‘Create New Request’, an electronic request form will open. Here the user will select the Agency name, Chief Inspector of Boilers, Sindh. System will populate some fields automatically. After entering the required information, user will click on ‘Save & Proceed’.
On the next screen, User will be required to add ‘Commodity Information’ and press ‘Save and Proceed’ button to proceed further. Please make sure to enter correct information in these fields as this information is critical to successful processing of your request by the CIB, Sindh. After entering the required information, User will click on ‘Save & Proceed’ button
On the ‘Document Information’ screen, a list of mandatory documents will be displayed in the ‘Document Type’ drop down menu. Please make sure to upload all mandatory documents and press “Save & Proceed” button
Upon clicking ‘Save & Proceed’, a pop-up screen will appear, requiring the User to confirm submission of application for Import Permit. Please make sure that all the required information has been provided. You may revert back to review the details by clicking ‘No’. Press ‘Yes’ to submit your application.
Upon clicking ‘Yes’, a pop-up screen will appear, requiring the User to pay fee for Import Permit. Click on the ‘Pay fee’.
Now you will be redirected to the payment page so you can process your fee.
Now click on ‘PD Account’. Select the appropriate account under ‘PD Account collectorate'.
Click on ‘Confirm’ to confirm processing your payment.
After that, a pop up will appear, click on ‘OK’.
After successful submission of your Import Permit request, it will be assigned a system generated ‘Request Document Number’ and your application details along with its status will appear on the Import Permits Home screen
Once your application of Import Permit request has been ‘Approved’ by the Chief Inspector of Boilers, a system generated Import Permit number will appear under the ‘Certificate Number’ field.
Once approved, User may download the ‘Import Permit’ by clicking on the ‘Download Certificate’ button under Actions from the List of Import Permit grid.
Upon clicking, your import permit in PDF format will be downloaded automatically as shown above.

It is a mandatory approval from the Chief Inspector of Boilers (Sindh) for importing boilers and related equipment.
Boiler components (based on HS/Product Code)
- Boilers and related equipment such as:
- Steam boilers
- Pressure vessels
Select Chief Inspector of Boilers, Sindh in the Import Permit request form
Country of origin
- Boiler/Equipment details (Model, Serial No.)
- Boiler capacity (TPH)
- Working pressure (MPa)
- Boiler type and rating
Incorrect details can lead to rejection or delays as CIB Sindh verifies technical specifications.

- HS Code & Product Code match
- Technical specs (capacity, pressure, model) match Mismatch may cause rejection or clearance issues.
