PSW Automates Motor Vehicle Registration System

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Sindh Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control (ET&NC) Department have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) following the integration of the Sindh ET&NC Department with the PSW. Sindh ET&NC services such as collection of the Sindh Infrastructure Development Cess (SIDC), submission of applications/requests for SIDC exemption/waiver, recording of Bank Guarantees and their release thereof, can now all be availed through the PSW system.

A modern automated digital system for faster clearance of cargo ships and saving time and cost of doing business in the country is being introduced this month. It will be blessed. The port community system will start functioning in September, under this system all the naval bases of the country and the various terminals established in them will start working under an automated digital system in the near future.

PSW’s e-Lab Management System to Integrate all Govt Labs

The electronic lab management system of the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) will integrate all government laboratories performing various types of tests on import/export goods for electronic processing and issuance of test reports. Sources told Business Recorder that in line with Pakistan’s commitment under the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), phase-one of Pakistan Single Window has been rolled out on June 30, 2022.

PSW Launching Port Community, Airport Community Systems

In an exclusive talk with Business Recorder at the PSW Headquarters, Syed Aftab Haider, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Single Window Company stated that Pakistan Single Window (PSW) will implement two new major systems, i.e., the Port Community System at Karachi, Gwadar, and Port Qasim for speedy clearance of vessels/ port processes and the Airport Community System at all airports to digitally connect all functions/ services at the airports.

FBR Decides to Implement IRMS through PSW

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to implement an Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) through the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) to ensure trade compliance as well as trade facilitation to reduce the time and cost of doing business. The Federal Board of Revenue issued Pakistan Single Window Integrated Risk Management System Rules, 2023.

All Government Agencies Required to Implement PCA of Imports, Exports

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made it compulsory for all government agencies integrated with the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) system to implement the Post Clearance Audit (PCA) of imports and exports. Under the new Pakistan Single Window Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) Rules, 2023, all the government agencies integrated with the PSW system shall put in place a mechanism for PCA of transactions processed through IRMS to ensure compliance with the Customs and other trade-related laws and regulations.

Pakistan Eyes More Seafood Exports To GCC After Digitization Of Marine Trade

With the digitization and improved efficiency of its marine departments, Pakistan is confident of boosting its exports, particularly of seafood, to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries are major recipients of Pakistani fish and fish products and the digitization would further boost exports to these countries, according to Naveed Abbas Memon, the PSW chief domain officer.
