Director

Mr. Ashhad Jawwad joined Pakistan Customs Service in 1996 and possesses diverse and extensive work experience in the Customs Service. During his career he has served in different departments of Pakistan Customs including Director General, Customs Academy of Pakistan, Chief Collector of Customs South (Appraisement), Collector of Customs, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Chief Customs (Tariff & Trade), Collector of Customs Appraisement (East/West), Karachi and at other operational and staff assignments. He is known for his professional approach to intensifying the efforts to streamline operations and boost revenue collections from customs duties and taxes on international trade.

Before assuming charge as Head of Pakistan Customs/ Member Customs (Operations), Federal Board of Revenue, he was working as the Director General of Customs Academy of Pakistan. He holds M.Sc. degree in Physics and M.A in Public Finance. He acquired extensive international exposure as a Fulbright Humphrey Fellow and through various international capacity building opportunities including Tariff Scheduling of Doha Round of Negotiations at Geneva, Switzerland and Conference on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs matters, at Singapore.
